PREFACE
It is a well-established fact that in life no one can succeed in any endeavour all by himself or herself. The journey of life requires a success companion. A companion is someone or something that’s always close by that you can turn to for help, advice or support; someone to look up to for inspiration, motivation or words of wisdom, to guide your steps; preferably, someone who has gone through that road before you – a mentor, to give you a hand when the going gets tough. Without a success companion the road of success will require double the effort, call for more resources and take twice the time needed and even so with no assurance of getting it right at first attempt. This explains why people engage in jubilation when they achieve success. It is not an all-comers’ achievement and is hardly predictable.

INTRODUCTION
We live on planet Earth. The Earth is one of the planets in the several million galaxies. The Earth is the only planet known to man that sustains life. The Earth is man’s natural habitat. Needless to say that there is strong correlation between man and his natural environment. Mundane science has ample evidence to support this assertion but the full extent of the effects of this relationship has not been fully understood by the Earths ace inhabitants. Countless persons, organisations, groups, institutions, religious bodies, schools of thought, government and voluntary societies have worked hard on the subject of man and his environment and left their findings, believes, postulations and prognosis for humanity to use as the basis for their believes and actions.
These findings, some of which are not known to all man, don’t seem to fit together as the pieces of a jig-saw puzzle would to give everyone a clear picture of what our sojourn on earth is all about and therefore leaves many in doubt as to what the truth is and which school of thoughts holds the answers to all the questions and the challenges we face at various stages of our lives on planet earth.
For a smooth successful sojourn on earth are three key requirements. These are KNOWLEDGE, UNDERSTANDING, WISDOM and ACTIONS. Achievements are the positive outcome of appropriate application of these keys to any task or human endeavour. Failures and disappointments are the negative outcome of inability to apply the keys correctly or appropriately.
Every human being desires success and achievement in whatever it is they are working at or pursuing in life. This is a natural expectation of all mankind. But the pathway to this attainment is usually no a straight one and many have not only failed to meet success with their efforts, but have fallen victim of the very circumstances that they were expecting to triumph over. Pursuing one’s dream is often times likened to plying an unfamiliar road going through an unfamiliar terrene. The danger of an unfamiliar terrene is its unfamiliarity – not knowing what to expect and preparing adequately for it. Failure therefore is the direct consequence of lack of inadequate preparation for the challenges one is facing. Success in life is all about preparing adequately before facing the challenges of life. Without understanding you cannot receive the gift of wisdom because you won’t be able to apply it. Understanding is the foundation upon which wisdom is built.
To prepare for success in life requires that one be knowledgeable on issues of success, have good understanding on how these issues will affect or respond to them, know what actions to take in anticipation of them and be courageous enough to face them at the appropriate time. This seemingly simplistic approach to success eludes many lives thereby making success an enigma.
